What is iCheckWebsite?
ICheckWebsite is a unique product which can be used for checking or monitoring any website or web application. iCheckWebsite makes it extremely easy to check any website against rules related to search engine optimization (SEO), accessibility and quality. Apart from the standard checks which can be useful for any websites, it provides functionality to specify checks which are unique for a given website or application.
Who can use this website and how much technical knowledge is required?
This product can be used by any individual or organization with a personal, corporate or any other type of website. This product is self explanatory and does not require it user to have any technical knowledge as such. Anyone with basic familiarity with browser and internet can work use this product without any problem.
Which sites can be tested with this service?
This product does not make any distinction and can test pretty much all the types of website. It is extremely useful for corporate and personal use alike.
What kind of and which rules can be checked?
ICheckWebsite makes it easy to check some general rules related to search engine optimization, accessibility, and functionality. Apart from the general rules, it also makes it easy to check rules which are relevant to your website.
List of rules which can be checked with this product is available on the feature page (link to feature). On this page, we have listed general rules which can be checked for all the sites and specific rules which can be related to any given specific sites.
What is rule?
Every little thing which is worth checking can be called rule. This could be as simple as making sure title is present to ensuring that link contains specific parameter or right files are included and so on. We are continuously increasing the rules we can check with iCheckWebsite. Rules we are checking currently can be found at our feature page.
How much does it costs?
ICheckWebsite doesn't cost much, you can perform basic checks for as little as 1 Pence. For more details on our pricing please click here.
Does it require any additional software?
No, iCheckWebsite does not require any additional software. Only thing which iCheckWebsite needs is a browser.
How accurate is the timing?
Timings are almost accurate. There can be slight difference in minutes, when there is a very high load on application.
How much time it would take to execute all the checks and produce results?
Results are totally dependent on size of your website. We can provide you results in less than one minute for a small site with around 60 pages or can take hours to complete check on all the pages for a site with more than 25000 pages.
Is it possible to specify how many pages can be checked?
Yes, it is possible to specify how many pages can be checked for every website.
How my personal information like email / phone etc are used?
We use your email address to communicate with you when we need to. This includes changing password, notification for results, results in email etc. You can turn off all the notifications in your profile page.
We can assure you that we will never ever use your email address or any other personal information for any other purpose.
FAQ > How do I?
How do I add sites I want to check?
After registering and logging in successfully, you will be directed to user home page at http://www.iCheckWebsite.com/user/home. On this page, look at the Add Site button in bottom left corner. Use this button to add sites you want to check with our service. You can add as many sites as you want with this.
How do I add rules?
After adding sites, your sites will be visible in the table. In the last column of this table, you will see that there is a button called "Add Rules". When you click on this button it will give you a form in the lightbox with all the rules you can currently check.
How do I edit rules?
Editing rules also work in the same way. You can click on the "Edit Rules" button and it will display the rules which are currently applied for this page. You can change these rules as needed and click on save to update them.
How do I schedule execution?
After logging in successfully, click on the "Schedule Execution" in top navigation bar. On this page, you can define schedule for sites you want to check. You can start checking site instantly by clicking Check Now button or schedule daily, weekly or monthly execution to monitor your site n a periodic basis.
How do I stop scheduled checking of a site?
When you click on "Delete Schedule" button on the schedule page, we delete execution schedule associated with that site.
How do I get results?
Depending on your notifications settings, we will send you an email notification and or results for first 25 pages as soon as execution is complete for your site.
How do I delete a site from my portfolio?
If you are absolutely certain that you will no longer need to check any site again, you can delete it from the user home page. Please remember, when we delete any site – we delete all the information associated with that site which include schedule and old results for that site as well.
How do I pay for this service
You can use industry standard PayPal payment processing to pay for this service with confidence. After logging in – click on the "Buy more credits" and specify credits you want to purchase. You can follow standard PayPal process to pay using your debit card, credit card or PayPal account.
How do I access old results?
You can access old results from Check your result section. Select the site you are interested in to load its latest result. Below this table, you will see another table with list of date and time when this site was checked. Select the date / time you are interested in to get result from that execution.
Please remember, we do not hold this data forever and delete it after three months.
FAQ > Limitations & Future Plans
Can I specify which pages I want to check?
No, as of now you cannot specify which pages you can check. However you can specify which pages you do not want to check by specifying URL patterns which we need to avoid.
We do plan to provide ability to specify which pages you want to check in future though.
What kind of sites cannot be checked with this product?
As of now we can check websites with HTML content. This product cannot be used for flash or any other type of website which does not have links specified in standard HTML anchor tag. Also, as of now iCheckWebsite cannot deal with user authentication and so can be used on pages which can be accessed without any authentication.
What types of things cannot be accomplished by this product?
As suggested by the name of this product, we can check rules which are important for any website, but we cannot test everything. We can check that right files are included, but cannot test how those files will affect application.
Can I get results in any other format?
No, currently we do not support results in any other format. But we are working on it and soon we will give you results in the downloadable format in PDF and Excel files.
